Founded in 1802 you say, well you say right. The Village of Clemmons as we say now was founded in 1802 by Mr. Peter Clemmons. Pete was not a politician or a silver spoon baby. He was a hard working, hard driving American. He built the first bridge across the Yadkin River. He also helped run stage coaches to and fro.
Well we are talking 1806 money. Yes, in the 1800's you could get a nice pad of dirt for not much in today's dollars. Just imagine 200 acres for $500.00. Today, that same 200 acres could cost as much as $1,000,000 to $20,000,000. What a time in American history.
